From humble beginnings, over thirty years ago, Clarks Vehicle Conversions was founded when Alan Clark, a bench-hand joiner from Doncaster, decided to “go it alone”. In 1985, Alan began Ply-lining vehicles from a small workshop in the back of a local builders’ merchants. Within a decade, he had grown the company profoundly and was joined in the workshop by his son, Paul and Brett Harrop.
As of today, Paul and Brett are Directors and still as passionate about quality craftsmanship and the continued progression of Clarks as they were when they first started, as such they appointed Darren Lord as Managing Director in 2015 to take the business to the next level. To this day, Clarks continues to grow, develop and invest in technology and its teams, expertly transforming thousands of vehicles every year, all whilst staying dedicated to it’s roots and values.
Meet the Team
Clarks wouldn't be the same without its dedicated, loyal and highly capable team members.
At Clarks we are dedicated to investing in our team and their development. One of our major successes is our award winning Clarks Academy that was established in 2015. It continues to go from strength to strength, as do they.
WORKING AT CLARKS
Investing in our team members’ progression is what sets us apart from our competitors. Our award winning development programmes offer increased job satisfaction and employee retention.
“I’ve worked at Clarks for over 15 years and can honestly say that I've enjoyed every minute”
We're Type Approved
We take your safety seriously which is why we have invested in making sure that all our vehicle conversions meet the highest safety standards at a UK and European level.
Introduced in 2013, Type Approval is UK legislation ensuring that all van conversions meet high safety standards, lower environmental impact and conform to a consistent production quality.
Clarks Vehicle Conversions was the first company to achieve National Small Series Whole Vehicle Type Approval from the VCA for welfare conversions.
We are also an N1 Enhancement Scheme Approved Converter which means we have passed the VCA’s high standards to make changes to a vehicle, such as adding a light bar or rear step, without the need for further testing.
Clarks Vehicle Conversions also believes that we have a responsibility to care for and protect the environment in which we work. We take this very seriously, which is why we have achieved ISO 14001 accreditation.
